Dye exclusion identifies side populations in unenriched monolayers, CSF-1Rlow, and CSF-1Rhighpopulations. A. DyeCycle Violet efflux was measured in monolayer, CSF-1Rlow, and CSF-1Rhigh cells to identify side population (SP) and dye retaining (DR) cells by COSB and (B) DD-1 cells. Verapamil was used to inhibit dye efflux. Propidium iodide was added immediately before analysis of all samples in order to exclude dead cells from analysis.
